Red-tailed bumblebee (queen)

Size: length is between 20-22mm.
Description: big, black, round hairy body with a red-orange tail.
Habitat: usually nests on the ground, often under stones or the base of dry stone walls.
Distribution: widely distributed throughout Britain and Ireland.
Do not confuse with workers which have the same black and red markings but are much smaller at 11-16mm.
