Record the first time you see a live, active blackcap. Blackcaps are resident in some areas, but are also a summer visitor, arriving from March/April - your observations can help to determine the date at which they first arrive for summer. Blackcaps are increasingly overwintering particularly in England, if observed throughout winter please record as recorded all winter.
